Fountain Grass

With its beautiful dark plumes and graceful blades, fountain grass provides fabulous personality to your garden or patio in the autumn and winter.

Fountain grass can tolerate both sun and partial shade. The soil should not be allowed to dry out, so give extra water during warm spells.

This plant looks great in modern gardens with a lot of straight lines.

Fountain grass looks great in informal natural gardens.

Fountain grass is also known as Pennisetum or foxtail grass.

They flower from July to September in a fountain shape, but even when they’re finished flowering, they remain highly decorative.

Depending on the species of fountain grass, they can be brown, grey, pink or russet, and reach a length of 25cm.

The leaves of some species change color in winter to a shade of yellow that looks almost golden, very attractive in the autumn sunshine.
