The small town of Wanship, situated just north of Park City, may seem an unlikely location for a wedding, but thanks to High West Distillery’s incredible new digs and event space at Blue Sky Ranch, that’s all about to change. “I’m in love with this new venue,” says Leslie Price of Leslie Dawn Events. “It’s sophisticated and rustic without feeling cliché. It’s really versatile and the scenery is breathtaking.”
Inspired by that stunning mountain backdrop and the aesthetic of the building, Price designed this romantic tablescape for an outdoor-loving couple with a taste for the finer things in life. “I love working within a rustic space, but so many times the décor can take a sharp turn towards a purely masculine vibe. I wanted to bring some delicate elements into the design to soften it up with the use of beautiful organic florals, muted tones, and candlelight,” she explains.
She chose a palette of light amethyst and Serenity Blue, but paired the ethereal tones with whiskey-inspired hues, including rust, brown, and a touch of yellow, a nod to High West’s signature libation.
“The venue has such a fabulous fireplace,” says Price. “We added flowers and candles to the stone mantel to make it the perfect backdrop.” She called upon Madisson Owens of Plume floral to bring her vision to life. The budding florist decorated the fireplace and designed a colorful centerpiece and bouquet to coordinate with the tablescape. “I really love how the centerpiece turned out,” says Price. “It makes a statement without being overpowering.” Along with the blooms, she dressed the wood table with a linen runner, glowing votives, and taper candles.
Price set the table with white plates, champagne chargers, and gold flatware. For a naturally glamorous accent, she incorporated polished geodes that match the cool hues of her palette throughout—she says the rocks could double as escort or place cards. A custom three-tier confection by Bake Me a Kake adds to the geode allure. The neutral, subtly patterned invitations and menus by Peter loves Jane are sweet and simple, as is the bridesmaids’ attire: an amethyst-hued Jenny Yoo dress from Gateway Bridaland a gold and stone necklace by The Land of Salt.
High West Distillery serves up top-notch whiskeys and vodkas, plus western-inspired cuisine, like this gourmet cheese board.
